Introduction to Stained Glass

Are you curious about stained glass? Think you might want to learn? This is the class for you!
In this class you will learn to cut, foil, and solder a small (6”x 6” or 5”x 7”) hanging piece to take home.
Patterns, supplies, and tools will be provided to use during class time.

Intro Stained Glass class: Every Saturday, 10am-1:30pm
One-day workshop: $50 included tax
Limited to 6 students

Classes given by Rose Metcalf, who has been doing stained glass since 1983 and giving classes since 1990. She is a former studio owner (Rose’s Glass Room) and shop owner (The Glass Wing).


Beginning Stained Glass Class

For beginners (or if you want to refresh your skills), this is the class for you!
In this class you will learn more precise glass cutting and soldering techniques.
We provide you with a pattern for a 10” x 16” hanging piece that you will treasure, or can give away as a gift. (You choose one of three patterns provided.)

Glass and tools sold separately.
Grinders provided for use during class time.

Fusing Glass Introduction Class

Design your own fusing coaster project
Instructor: Dirk Hosie

Dirk Hosie is a local artist originally from Texas. While in Texas he attended Art classes in Nacogdoches, Corpus Christi, and Austin. Over the last 30 years Dirk has worked in a myriad of mediums. These include, wood, metal, glass (stained, blown and fused). His works have ranged from delicate jewelry to large sculptures. He has been known to work with bowling balls when inspired. His current projects center primarily around fused and stained glass incorporated into various objects.

Class Date: Weekday by appointment and Saturday
Time: 10am to 1pm
Cost: $50.00 per person
30 minutes introduction to glass fusing, safety and projects.
2.5 hours project time.
Each participant will have 2pcs 4×4 square blanks & pendent for their projects.
All tools & glass supplies are provided.
